It's quite relaxing to know that you've written the comic and the news post on Thursday and you don't need to stress about it until Tuesday when it will automagically update.

Of course, there are always teaks, so Monday rolls around and I sit down to tweak, armed with Xoqz to bounce ideas off and Dievle's comments in our planning forum. And then, when I'm almost done, I put the hurry up, thinking it's Tuesday, only to realise that it's still Monday. So I get that sigh of relaxation all over again.

Now I know that our strips so far are INCREDIBLY Star Trek In-Jokey, so a word of explanation ... The Prime Directive is notionally a law that stipulates non-intereference with less advanced or "backwards" societies. It's there so that every time some mission goes wrong, there's something stopping them from nuking the place and warping off.

But most importantly, the Prime Directive is whatever you want it to be, for one episode only!

Also, it's time ask for some user involvement. We've now got four comics up, so some feedback would be good. Let us know what you think of the style, of the content, of my prattling on every week ... Send it to comics@ssexplorer.com, please. If people are actually enjoying this, then we might try and update a little more frequently than once a week.

Also, spread the word! If there's anyone you can tell about this comic, please do, we would be very grateful!

Hope you're enjoying it so far! See you next Tuesday!

There's now an RSS feed for the comic.

You can either put http://www.ssexplorer.com/ssexplorer.php directly into your RSS reader, or if you're a Firefox user, you will see the familiar orange RSS icon in the bottom right hand corner of their browser on any page of the site.

A little experimentation in today's comic. Only the third strip and already I've broken the deadline and the "3-frame" rule. Still, I like the way this came out.

If I were to make an excuse for lateness, it would be Easter. So there, it's made. Next week will be on time, and then I'm going to start trying to make them in advance, so they're ready to go come release time!

It wasn't a fluke! Well, it might have been two flukes, but it wasn't A fluke. Our second comic is now up!

The plan from here on in is to do a weekly job, updating on Tuesday nights (Aus EST) or thereabouts. In theory, we can have all these comics ready ahead of time and they'll be automagically published, but that requires some serious effort on our part.

That said, we do have a few more scripts already prepared and in what I like to call the "Storyboard" stage (pretty funny for a 3 panel comic). This means I've just eradicated any form of excuse for not having a comic next Tuesday. So see you then!

Starship Explorer is a project that's been going on for several years, without ever really going anywhere. It was the brainchild of Xoqz, sometime back in the depths of high school. It started off as a collaborative effort between Xoqz, xeyr and Dievle on a short film, and, well, went nowhere from there.

But recently, there's been a resurgence of activity in the Starship Explorer crew, and now, since xeyr was bored, he brings you the webcomic.

All the original crew are here, and these strips are all painstakingly extracted directly from the heads of the three writers. We hope you enjoy.
